Role Overview:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering personal assistance and support services to patients who require either short-term help or ongoing care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with activities of daily living in accordance with established care plans.
- Collaborating closely with patients, families, and caregivers across various settings, including home and healthcare facilities.
- Supporting nursing staff in delivering routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and safety needs.
- Facilitating organized activities and programs to enhance patient engagement.
- Observing and reporting on patients' mood, health status, and overall wellbeing.
In this role, you will work under the supervision of a regulated health professional, ensuring a safe environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals will be essential to your success.
Required Qualifications:To qualify for this position, you must have completed a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and maintain active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program, who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum, may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with EPIC is an asset.
