About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to join our Retail Operations Team at Staples Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving retail process strategies that complement our financial and strategic initiatives and support our overall vision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Retail Process Strategies: Define and drive retail process strategies that align with our company's financial and strategic initiatives and support our overall vision.
  2. Identify and Develop Opportunities for Improvement: Identify and develop opportunities for improved cash flow, margin, and productivity internal and external to Retail Operations.
  3. Monitor and Evaluate New Products and Technologies: Monitor the development and implementation of new products, techniques, equipment, systems, procedures, and policies that impact retail operations.
  4. Project Management: Identify and prioritize projects and supervise their completion to maximize contributions to company objectives.
  5. Standardization and Best Practices: Establish retail objectives and best practice standards that support our company's Canadian retail operations.
Requirements
  1. Education: Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering or business management.
  2. Experience: Minimum 10 years of multi-unit retail operations experience at a mid to senior level, with an emphasis on direct retail operations, process and efficiencies, and labor scheduling and modeling.
  3. Management Experience: Management experience in the Canadian retail industry.
  4. Team Leadership: Prior experience building, training, and driving teams through challenging assignments while executing development plans.
