About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team at BBA Consultants. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering infrastructure projects for the heavy industry sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop civil and utilities drawings for heavy industry projects, including roads, underground services, drainage systems, and earthworks.
  • Participate in the development of feasibility studies, technical reports, and construction plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize site layouts and select preferred design options.
  • Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, schedules, budgets, and specifications for civil works.
  • Plan, organize, and assess work to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Attend construction site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Establish and maintain key client relationships to identify business opportunities and develop new projects.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior engineers and designers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate work with other civil engineers, technicians, and engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Ensure quality control of the work of engineers and technicians to maintain high standards.
  • Assess client satisfaction and maintain close relationships with clients and their representatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Member of a professional engineering association.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing infrastructure projects, including roads, underground utility networks, drainage systems, and earthworks.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and knowledge of Civil3D.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Available for short-term assignments at client offices or sites, as well as site visits.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects of high technical quality and exceeding client expectations.
  • Hands-on project experience in mine plant site and infrastructure design.
  • Diverse portfolio of work experience in industrial and mining projects.
  • Collaborative approach to finding innovative solutions to project needs.
