This is an exceptional opportunity for you to collaborate with industry experts and engineering professionals across Canada on engaging and complex projects. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with seasoned engineers and designers on substantial industrial initiatives in the mining and energy sectors. The Infrastructure and Civil Engineering Specialist will serve as a vital technical resource on intricate projects, allowing you to apply and enhance your expertise in infrastructure and earthworks design as well as project execution.

In this role at BBA, you will be instrumental in various engineering projects, spanning from feasibility assessments to design and on-site implementation. As part of a cooperative, multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure the delivery of outstanding technical quality while also contributing to the development of new business opportunities.

  1. Engage in all phases of design and production of engineering documentation.
  2. Contribute to the creation of civil and utility drawings.
  3. Design access routes, underground utilities (sewers, aqueducts, fire protection), drainage systems, and earthworks in heavy industry sectors such as mining, energy, and petrochemicals.
  4. Optimize and select preferred site configurations.
  5. Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports.
  6. Draft construction plans and specifications for civil projects.
  7. Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, schedules, budgets, specifications, and reports.
  8. Plan, organize, and evaluate work processes.
  9. Participate in construction site inspections and audits.
  10. Build and maintain key client relationships while actively engaging in business development.
  11. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers, sharing knowledge and fostering skill enhancement within the team.
  12. Coordinate efforts with other civil engineers and technicians, as well as across different engineering disciplines.
  13. Ensure quality control over the work produced by engineers and technicians.
  14. Assess client satisfaction and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients and their representatives.
  15. Evaluate engineering hours and prepare proposals.

Overview of Qualifications and Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Membership in a professional engineering association
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure design, including roads, underground utility networks, drainage systems, and earthworks
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • Familiarity with Civil3D
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to undertake short-term assignments at client offices or sites, including site visits
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects that exceed client expectations
  • Hands-on experience in mine plant site and infrastructure design
  • Diverse experience portfolio in industrial and mining projects
  • Collaborative approach to innovative project solutions
