The Lead Collections Analyst will take charge of maximizing the recovery of overdue payments from clients, employing a range of collection strategies, legal actions, and selective engagement of external collection agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of accounts and assist in reconciling accounts to ensure the collection of all outstanding payments from clients.
  • Formulate and execute effective collection strategies and procedures aimed at optimizing debt recovery while preserving positive relationships with customers.
  • Maintain precise and current records of all collection activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including legal, finance, and customer service, to address complex or escalated customer concerns.
  • Engage with clients regarding their outstanding balances, negotiating payment arrangements, settlements, or alternative resolutions.
  • Prioritize accounts to ensure collection efforts yield maximum benefits, monitoring key indicators that may signal a customer's risk of delinquency.
  • Resolve issues related to customer accounts, including overdue invoices, to facilitate timely payments.
  • Provide recommendations to Sales and/or clients to negotiate payment settlements effectively.
  • Establish professional relationships with accounts payable contacts for each assigned account.
  • Audit accounts for billing accuracy and track aged and skipped invoices to ensure prompt payment.
  • Utilize advanced skills and expertise across various processes, procedures, and systems to recover aging invoices.
  • Contribute suggestions for process enhancements based on identified trends and a comprehensive understanding of the overall objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in collections, cash applications, credit, accounts payable, or a related financial field.
  • Managerial experience within a collections department is advantageous.
  • A recent degree in Business-Finance or a related discipline is required.
  • Prior experience in a collections specialist role is beneficial.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, along with strong interpersonal and customer relationship abilities.
  • Proficient negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful closures.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
