We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Claims Specialist to join our Property Large Loss team at Intact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and investigate large and complex commercial property claims, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including counsel, consultants, and experts, to determine liability and assess damages.
- Mentor and guide regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling.
- Train colleagues on complex claims handling and provide technical advice to support long-term succession planning.
- Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards, and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned.
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Deliver key performance indicators related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control, and expense management.
- Leverage expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support best practice operations.
- Effectively negotiate claims and attend settlement conferences and trials.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.
- Appropriate knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position.
- Undergraduate degree or CIP designation (asset).
- Travel required; valid driver's license.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
