Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Specialist to join our team at 570 The Dominion of Canada General. As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving assigned claims in accordance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Investigation and Evaluation: Conduct thorough investigations of assigned claims, gathering and analyzing data to determine the extent of liability and damages.
  • Claims Resolution: Negotiate and resolve claims with insureds and claimants, or their legal representatives, in a fair and timely manner.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication throughout the claims process.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, agents, and other claims professionals, to ensure seamless claim handling and resolution.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, laws, and regulations, applying this knowledge to complex claims scenarios.
  • Training and Development: Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced claims professionals, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team performance.
Requirements
  • Education: University/College degree or equivalent in business, insurance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of claim handling experience, with a strong background in auto bodily injury claims.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and customer service skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Licenses and Certifications: State insurance adjusting license (where applicable) and ongoing satisfaction of any necessary continuing education requirements.
