Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Howard Johnson Grande Prairie. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, and oversee the work of tradespersons as needed.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
  • Supervise other workers and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair to maintain the appearance and integrity of our building.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Dependability and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
  • Work Term: Permanent and Work Language: English are required.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week are standard for this position.
