Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Howard Johnson Grande Prairie. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and ensuring the overall upkeep of our establishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to ensure a secure environment.
  • Supervise other workers and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Dependability and reliability are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
