About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Car Loader to join our team at Bird Construction Company (Limited Partnership). As a Rail Car Loader, you will be responsible for loading Petroleum Coke and Diesel on rail cars and performing various tasks related to rail yard car movement and sorting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading Petroleum Coke and Diesel on rail cars
  • Rail yard car movement and sorting of different types of coke cars
  • Wash down conveyor room after coke loading has been completed for the day
  • Inspecting and greasing equipment
  • Loading end dump trucks with Petroleum Coke
  • Assisting with maintenance and repairs
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Willingness to join the Local 870 union
  • H2S Alive certification
  • Fall Protection certification
  • CSTS-0.9 certification
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • General construction safety knowledge
  • Experience operating heavy equipment an asset
  • Experience with conveyor systems an asset
