Rail Car Loader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Car Loader to join our team at Bird Construction Company (Limited Partnership). As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for loading petroleum coke and diesel onto rail cars, as well as performing various tasks related to rail yard car movement and sorting.

• Loading petroleum coke and diesel onto rail cars
• Performing rail yard car movement and sorting
• Washing down conveyor room after coke loading
• Inspecting and maintaining equipment
• Loading end dump trucks with petroleum coke
• Assisting with maintenance and repairs

• High School Diploma
• Willingness to join Local 870 union
• H2S Alive certification
• Fall Protection certification
• CSTS-0.9 certification
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Drug, Alcohol, and Fit for Duty testing
• General construction safety knowledge
• Experience operating heavy equipment (an asset)
• Experience with conveyor systems (an asset)

• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Use of arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
• Climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
