Brock University is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Teaching Assistant for the COSC 4P84 course. As a member of our academic team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of course materials, including lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions.
  • Provide academic support to students, including answering questions, providing feedback, and helping with assignments.
  • Assist with the administration of the course, including grading, recording attendance, and maintaining records.
  • Participate in course development and evaluation, including providing feedback on course materials and suggesting improvements.
Requirements
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
  • Applicants must be at least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in Computer Science with a major average of 75%, or who have completed a Computer Science Degree.
  • The successful applicant must have effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students, be punctual in attending classes, and be able to meet appropriate deadlines.
Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate.
