Job Summary
The Chemical Operator PO3 plays a crucial role in supporting the production process of our API facility. This involves setting up, operating, and monitoring heavy equipment, including reactors, filters, dryers, mills, and production facilities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recording information, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, carry out, and monitor processing steps as assigned by senior chemical operators or production supervisors, ensuring quality work in a timely manner.
- Work in compliance with all departmental and company health and safety policies, SOPs, cGMP procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Accurately record data in production documents under supervision.
- Report injuries, accidents, or damaged equipment.
- Use personal safety equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Maintain the production facility in a neat and tidy manner in accordance with departmental policy.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and areas using detergents and chemicals.
- Communicate with senior chemical operators, production specialists, or production supervisors regarding plant and equipment status, observations, or problems.
- Review new or updated departmental SOPs and attend required training sessions.
- Work in a support role in a different work centre, shadowing an operator trained in the specific procedures.
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to shift and prepare for the upcoming shift.
- Work safely, collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

- Ensure personal adherence to all compliance programs, including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum high school diploma; College diploma or CET certification is strongly preferred; Post-secondary degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is desirable.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Aptitude for mechanics; basic computer skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations.
- Experience: Prior experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment (6 months minimum); process chemistry experience is preferred.
