Kap Paper Inc. is seeking a skilled Power Engineer 2nd to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine testing and maintenance on boilers and condensate systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with the operation of gas boilers and adjust chemical feed rates to maintain residuals.
- Conduct visual inspections of equipment under your care to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
- Monitor and maintain softeners, caustic tanks, and other critical systems to ensure smooth plant operation.
- Assist with lockouts, chemical unloading, and other tasks as assigned by the Shift Engineer.
- Support the Chief Operating Engineer in upholding the TSSA Operating Engineers' Act and regulations.
- Minimum Ontario Third Class (TSSA) Power Engineering License or better.
- Experience with boiler equipment and their auxiliaries is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment and willingness to learn.
- Participation in the current training matrix for progression toward the next highest Power Engineering license.
- Good level of maturity, interpersonal, and communication skills.
