If you possess the natural ability to connect with individuals and convey stories and values authentically, coupled with a positive attitude and a desire for personal and professional development, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete recruitment cycle for both technical and non-technical roles, from job postings to candidate selection, becoming proficient in our recruitment process and ATS (JazzHR).
  • Provide updates on recruitment progress through a tracking system, offering insights into priorities and achievements.
  • Engage with our talent, particularly software engineers and team members across departments, to gauge team satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and participate in virtual or in-person career and job fairs.
  • Assist with various immigration pathways for current employees.
  • Support funding and grants for new hires when applicable.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires in a remote yet engaging manner.
  • Assist managers with personnel-related inquiries and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Address employee conflicts, conduct issues, and performance concerns with diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure personnel records and documents are accurately maintained in our HRIS (Bamboo).
  • Oversee the offboarding process for team members, ensuring a sensitive and positive experience.
  • Organize and participate in employee events (social, wellness, and other initiatives) that enhance the employee experience both remotely and in-person.
  • Demonstrate openness and readiness to engage in various projects as the team evolves and new areas are implemented.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong prosocial motives, demonstrating a desire to support others.
  • Proven track record of creating exceptional experiences for staff and advocating for team culture.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player who brings positivity and enthusiasm to the workplace.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver quick turnaround times.
  • Proficiency in learning new tools quickly, with intermediate skills in Google Docs, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a human resources role that includes recruitment.
  • Experience in a similar role within a remote work environment.
  • Industry experience in Professional Services or in a technology agency or client-facing role.
  • Experience in a startup technology setting.
  • Familiarity with working with software engineers and knowledge of Canadian employment laws, particularly in B.C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JazzHR (ATS) and BambooHR.
  • Experience working with employees in Toronto and Alberta.

Educational Background:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources is preferred.

Role Overview:

  • Reports directly to the CEO.
  • This is a stand-alone HR role that collaborates with peers in technology, finance, and sales/marketing.
  • Support is provided by all department leaders, with advisory assistance from Legal.

Location:

  • This position is fully remote, but availability for in-person employee-related events or career fairs is required.
