Position Overview: The role of an Early Childhood Educator is vital in fostering the growth and development of young children, providing essential support to families and communities. This position involves nurturing and promoting a child's development from infancy to age six, ensuring their health and safety while addressing their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in curriculum planning and execution tailored for young children.
2. Mentor students during practical training and laboratory sessions related to Early Childhood Education courses.
3. Perform additional related duties as required in the capacity of an Early Childhood Educator.
Physical Demands: This role is physically demanding, necessitating the ability to lift and move children weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, and walking are required, along with the capacity to work in confined or awkward positions, including bending and kneeling.
Vigilance and Skills: A high level of alertness is essential, with exceptional visual and auditory capabilities to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, including those with special needs, in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
SCREENING CRITERIA:
1. Candidates must be enrolled in a recognized Level I Certificate program in Early Childhood Education, leading to Level I Child Care Services Certification.
2. A minimum of one year of experience in a regulated childcare setting is preferred.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. Familiarity with early childhood education principles and relevant legislation.
2. Ability to establish trust and foster positive relationships with children, families, and students.
3. Proficiency in conflict resolution.
4. Capability to collaborate effectively within a childcare team.
5. Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment: A Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, current First Aid/CPR certification, and proof of updated immunizations satisfactory to the Employer will be required prior to finalizing employment.
Compensation: CG-27 - $27.63 per hour
