We are seeking a highly skilled Wind Service Site Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Limited in Oakville, Canada.

About the Role

As a Wind Service Site Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical tasks to accomplish defined services delivery work on Wind Turbines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and hydraulic maintenances and support technical tasks, including basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Coordinate and accomplish defined service operations and/or resolve product issues for wind turbines.
  • Support warehouse, inventory, and safety inspections to support the site and team leads.

Requirements

  • Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology and translate learning into personal success.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations.
  • Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and meet physical demands of the position.
  • Relevant work experience or demonstrated knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial, or automotive industry. Ideally within the wind industry would be preferred.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical education would be preferable. Open to candidates in near completion of technical degrees/certifications.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Canada.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic checks of their license.
  • Candidate must be able to work overtime and be on scheduled standby for weekends and holidays.
