About the Role

Siemen Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a highly skilled Wind Service Technician to join our team. As a Wind Service Technician, you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at our Saskatchewan Wind Turbine site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure top performance on our wind farms.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Participate in the development of new field procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge in SG4X platform with emphasis on electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
  • Strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology and translate learning into personal success.
  • Minimum High school diploma required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to organize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation.
  • Good computer skills, competent in the use of Microsoft platforms like Outlook and Excel.

What We Offer

  • Extensive training and testing will be provided covering safety and technical job requirements.
  • Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
  • Travel included in a year would be up to 10%.
