Automotive Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to join our team at Down the Road Again Automotive. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the overall direction and operation of our service department.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct and Control Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of our service department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to optimize service department productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage Staff and Assign Duties: Supervise and train service technicians, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Study Market Research and Trends: Analyze market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes, and the impact of competitors' operations on sales.
- Plan Budgets and Monitor Revenues and Expenses: Develop and manage budgets for the service department, monitoring revenues and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Determine Staffing Requirements: Assess staffing needs and make recommendations to management to ensure adequate coverage.
- Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise.
- Supervise Office and Volunteer Staff: Oversee the activities of office and volunteer staff, ensuring that they are providing excellent customer service.
- Perform Front Desk Duties: Handle customer inquiries, schedule appointments, and perform other front desk duties as needed.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in point of sale systems, electronic schedulers, word processing software, database software, project management software, inventory control software, electronic mail, and spreadsheets.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, valid driver's license, and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and handle heavy loads.
