Artech LLC is seeking a skilled Mechanical Product Designer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical products from concept to production release. Your expertise in PTC Creo Parametric/PDM and ability to work collaboratively with a R&D team will be essential in driving innovation and meeting market requirements. You will also be responsible for validating mechanical components, analyzing data, and writing test reports. Additionally, you will estimate personal timelines to support effective project scheduling and apply engineering principles for structural integrity, thermal performance, material performance, and manufacturability. To be successful in this role, you will need an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in product design. You will also need demonstrated expertise in developing detailed designs through CAD models and drawings of both electrical enclosures and hardware. Experience in designing with sheet metal, injection-molded plastic, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing for prototype and high-volume production is also required. Sound engineering design methodologies, including minimum constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T, are essential. Familiarity with designing for compliance with regulatory standards (UL/IEC/NEC) and knowledge of BOM, DFMEA, FTA, and DVT processes are preferred.
