About the Role

Saltworks Technologies, a global leader in advanced industrial desalination and lithium refining, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering, this individual will play a pivotal role in the detailed design of systems, working in multi-disciplinary teams and being trained and mentored by senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret process designs and deliver code-compliant mechanical designs, ensuring understanding of code requirements, mechanical design integrity, and the ability to develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of the CAD database (SolidWorks PDM).
  • Participate in creative design sessions with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure the design meets requirements while considering risks and opportunities.
  • Interface with the Production team to ensure accurate build documentation for all designs.
  • Generate fabrication drawings and engineering documentation.
Requirements
  • A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Integrated, etc.).
  • 3 - 8 years of relevant post-graduation work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, including routing, large assemblies, weldments, drawings, and PDM systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial plant design, including P&IDs and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable piping codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPVC, CSA B51-14).
  • Experience designing high-pressure stainless steel piping systems would be considered a bonus.
  • Experience with pipe stress analysis is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (not essential—but it's beneficial if you like this type of work).
  • A positive attitude, a can-do approach, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.
