Churchill Health Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team.

Reporting to the Manager of Patient Care, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to patients and residents, assisting them with their daily activities and ensuring their well-being.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and assistance to patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and promptly.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere within the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide training program is essential.
  • Valid CPR Certification is required and must be renewed annually.
  • Prior experience as a Health Care Aide is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effective patient interaction and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of Cree or Dene language is beneficial in serving our diverse patient population.

Physical Demands:

  • This role may involve occasional heavy lifting, potential posture and muscle strain, and interactions with patients displaying aggressive behavior.
  • The ability to adapt to varying physical demands based on the specific needs of patients is essential.
