Position Overview:

We are excited to announce an opening for a Branch Operations Leader . In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and operational control of the branch. You will be responsible for monitoring policies and procedures while providing recommendations in collaboration with the Operations Manager and department heads. You will track daily performance metrics and make informed decisions to achieve branch goals. Your participation in setting and maintaining the branch's objectives will be crucial. You will focus on developing a skilled team and nurturing a robust customer base. Additionally, you will manage and inspire optimal performance among all direct reports, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offering guidance and oversight to internal staff, ensuring that all departments work cohesively towards shared objectives.
  • Engaging in and/or recommending product training initiatives.
  • Driving sales growth by developing, coaching, and motivating both sales and support teams.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction aligns with the required operational performance metrics.
  • Assisting in the planning of warehouse and physical plant operations.
  • Managing vendor relationships and strategic planning.
  • Contributing to long-term management strategies.
  • Conducting outside sales activities to build key customer relationships, including regular on-site visits for sales and technical support (if applicable).
  • Establishing sales projections for the fiscal year and monitoring progress.
  • Leading weekly sales meetings.
  • Representing the company within the local and industry community.
  • Understanding and adhering to Vallen's health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as all relevant regulations.
  • Actively participating in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections.
  • Identifying, managing, and reporting workplace hazards, while adhering to WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses.
  • Promptly reporting workplace injuries and participating in return-to-work programs as necessary.
  • Being fit for duty and capable of performing all required tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • A College/University Diploma is required (preferably in Business, Sales & Marketing, or a Technical field).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, ideally in a Sales/Distribution environment, with prior management experience required.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
