Position Overview:
We are seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our Corporate Security & Cyber Risk Management team in a permanent capacity. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Cyber Security Operations, you will provide expert security knowledge and operational support across all Nova Scotia Power's subsidiaries. Your role will involve a proactive approach to identifying and evaluating threats to our network and data, monitoring for malicious activities, and investigating security incidents. A deep understanding of the evolving threat landscape is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will lead the implementation of new cyber security capabilities while enhancing existing practices and methodologies. Your specific duties will include:
- Collaborating with management to develop new cyber security capabilities and manage multiple assessments concurrently.
- Conducting evaluations and providing recommendations for tools and frameworks used in risk and security assessments.
- Proactively scanning the enterprise infrastructure for vulnerabilities and security threats, utilizing automated monitoring tools and conducting thorough assessments.
- Identifying and recommending corrective actions to mitigate identified cyber security risks.
- Assisting in digital forensics by gathering evidence related to policy violations and responding to intelligence and audit efforts.
- Monitoring external sources for security intelligence and leading information sharing sessions with industry partners.
- Utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills to devise effective solutions to security challenges.
- Contributing to the development of threat metrics, security processes, and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of risk and security management processes and tools.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing advanced methodologies for specialized security areas.
- Strong project management skills, including knowledge of project life cycles and organizational change management.
- Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to mentor others in the field of Cyber Security.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP standards and Industrial Control System (ICS) environments is an asset.
- Experience with Azure Microsoft 365 security services is also beneficial.
