About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance to join our team at Skjodt-Barrett Foods. As a key member of our operations leadership team, you will be responsible for driving a quality culture and ensuring that our food manufacturing facilities maintain the highest standards of food safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a Quality Culture
    • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee the implementation of training and education for all plant employees to promote a culture of quality and ownership.
  • Optimize and Implement QA Solutions
    • Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance product quality and safety.
  • Lead and Manage a QA Team
    • Manage a team of quality assurance professionals to ensure that quality objectives are met and exceeded.
    • Develop and implement processes to ensure effective communication and collaboration between the QA team and other departments.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience
    • Extensive quality assurance experience in food and beverage manufacturing with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Experience in thermal processing techniques and a deep understanding of sanitation systems.
  • Leadership and Management
    • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving quality objectives and driving business success.
    • Experience managing a QA team, inspiring high performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Interpersonal Skills
    • Outstanding professional written and verbal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
