Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Bouchier. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the smooth execution of our road maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, skid steers, rock trucks, and packers, in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on assigned equipment and report any issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly equipped with safety gear and that operators are aware of and follow safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and customers to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Participate in job hazard assessments, risk assessments, and team meetings to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision and site management.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, skid steers, rock trucks, and packers.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License.
  • Clean 5-year Driver's Abstract.
  • Basic Safety Orientation (CSTS09, OSSA Regional Orientation, OSSA BSO, or CSO).
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • Ability to work in fluctuating climates and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
