Job Summary

Western LED Lighting Corp is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Cable Signals: Conduct thorough inspections of cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and Repair Equipment Faults: Identify and repair faults in telecommunications equipment, including cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
  • Analyze Test Results: Analyze test results to determine the cause of equipment faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete Service Reports: Maintain accurate and detailed service reports to document work completed and issues encountered.
  • Initiate Repair Personnel Dispatch: Coordinate the dispatch of repair personnel to resolve equipment faults in a timely manner.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Provide guidance and training to apprentices to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Operate Computerized Testing Systems: Utilize computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment.
  • Climb and Work Aloft: Safely climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to access and repair equipment.
  • Maintain and Repair Transmission Systems: Regularly inspect and maintain aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in telecommunications equipment installation and repair.
  • College/CEGEP education in a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
