Work Arrangement : Hybrid – 2 days remote

Role Summary

  • Accountable for aiding in the inspection and maintenance of steam generators, focusing on engineering lifecycle management for scheduled outages and ensuring fitness for service condition monitoring. Expected to mentor a junior engineering team with specialized knowledge.
  • Analyze and assess results from eddy current and ultrasonic inspections, along with visual assessments.
  • Offer engineering guidance or direction as necessary, including risk evaluations, foreign material assessments, and modifications to inspection/outage scopes.
  • Assist in tube plugging and tube pulling recommendations as dictated by fitness-for-service guidelines and adherence to periodic inspection protocols.
  • Facilitate the clarification of specification requirements and coordinate necessary modifications or technical tasks for the steam generator program.
  • Support the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing oversight phases of the steam generator program, ensuring thorough documentation reviews to confirm compliance and requirement fulfillment.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Nuclear Engineering setting with a focus on Steam Generators.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards related to pressure boundaries, inspection, maintenance, and lifecycle management of Steam Generators.
  • Understanding of non-destructive examination methods and regulatory interfaces.
  • Application of periodic inspection programs and knowledge of materials science principles relevant to Steam Generators.
  • Insight into steam generator design and degradation mechanisms of tube materials. A Professional Engineer of Ontario license is mandatory.
