Job Title:

Psychiatrist - Mood Disorders Centre (Outpatient)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at the Mood Disorders Centre (MDC) in Vancouver Coastal Health. As a Psychiatrist with our organization, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with mood disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide specialized treatment for patients with mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in academic activities and contribute to the training and education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Actively participate in clinical research and contribute to the development of new treatments and interventions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Specialist qualifications in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) - Mandatory.
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory.
  • Eligibility for a clinical faculty appointment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
  • Experience working with a mood disorders population.
  • Experience with academic psychiatry and clinical research.
  • Publications in academic journals.
