Engineering Services Director

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Services Director to lead our R&D engineering team at FPC Franchise. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring product excellence, and contributing to strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Shape the technical direction for R&D engineering, ensuring that our products meet customer goals for quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Customer Focus: Collaborate with sales and marketing to understand and meet customer technical requirements, driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Team Management: Lead a team of engineering services project managers, design consultants, and senior engineers from product concept to obsolescence, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Performance Management: Set priorities, track performance metrics, and drive process improvements, ensuring that our team is aligned with business objectives.
- Budget Oversight: Develop and manage departmental budgets, setting strategic planning objectives and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
- Cost Control: Monitor costs and expenses to meet departmental goals, ensuring that our financial performance is aligned with business objectives.
- Employee Development: Recommend compensation, coach for performance, and handle disciplinary actions, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Site Management: Participate in site management, providing technical input for business plans and proposals, and ensuring that our operations are aligned with business objectives.
- Customer Engagement: Collaborate with sales and marketing to understand and meet customer technical requirements, driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Engineering Expertise: Strong foundation in engineering design, development, testing, and production, with a broad understanding of electronic manufacturing, materials, and processes.
- Business Acumen: Understand how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, delivery, and profitability, with a strong ability to analyze and negotiate.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, with a strong ability to drive process improvements and ensure product excellence.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills, with a strong ability to analyze data, negotiate, and resolve problems.
- Goal Setting: Ability to establish goals and coordinate resources to meet quality and quantity metrics, with a strong focus on driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Communication: Effective communicator with internal and external customers, with a strong ability to lead, manage, train, and motivate diverse teams.
- Leadership: Skilled at leading, managing, training, and motivating diverse teams to meet technical requirements and deadlines, with a strong focus on driving innovation and excellence.
Typical Experience:
- 11 to 14 years relevant experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of driving innovation, ensuring product excellence, and contributing to strategic business objectives.
Typical Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience, with advanced studies in Business/Operations/Technology recommended.
