We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Development to join our team at DeafBlind Ontario Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our development efforts and building strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, engage, develop, and manage the Development team to achieve strategic objectives.
- Donor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, individual donors, and community prospects, to understand their philanthropy goals and match them with current opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a robust and effective donor acquisition strategy to achieve organizational goals.
- Program Development: Lead the development and implementation of new programs and infrastructure to create a consistent pipeline of potential new donors.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the development team and communications teams to create alignment and achieve organizational goals.
- Organizational Culture: Promote the values of DeafBlind Ontario Services within the workplace and in the community by demonstrating positive and professional relationships with other agency staff, families, volunteers, advocates, and employers.
- Education and Experience: University degree in business, communications, fundraising, or a related field, with 6-10 years' experience in a leadership capacity with professional fundraising in the not-for-profit sector.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, people management skills, and issue-based problem-solving techniques. Proven track record of successfully leading, mentoring, and motivating staff in a changing, high-growth, mission-driven environment.
