As a vital member of Altum Health, psychotherapists operate both autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, undertaking the following key responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive psychosocial evaluations;
- Delivering group and individual psychotherapy for clients experiencing psychological challenges due to workplace incidents, motor vehicle accidents, or other third-party funded services;
- Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each client, promoting their return to daily activities;
- Continuously monitoring client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and collaborating with the program psychologist as needed;
- Planning and conducting educational sessions grounded in the cognitive behavioral model;
- Completing necessary documentation promptly and engaging in research, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives; performing cross-functional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Health or Social Sciences preferred; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Must be a member in good standing with the appropriate regulated health professions College.
- Additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from a recognized institution and seven (7) years of practical experience in CBT preferred; alternatively, five (5) years of practical experience in CBT with supervision/mentorship.
- Required training in group facilitation and individual counseling.
- Experience in conducting psychotherapeutic assessments and structured treatment for a diverse range of mental health conditions.
- Clinical proficiency in providing structured psychotherapy for trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and/or addictions.
- Experience supporting clients with disabilities or injuries from workplace or vehicular incidents, including concussions and chronic pain.
- Experience in both group and individual psychotherapy is essential.
- Additional training in specific interventions (DBT, ACT, Mindfulness) is preferred.
- Familiarity with delivering services via telehealth is advantageous.
- Experience with return-to-work planning is preferred.
- Crisis intervention training/certification is an asset.
- Case management experience is beneficial.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality assessment and treatment reports.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Proficient computer literacy skills.
