Job Title: Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Procon Mining and Tunnelling Ltd. is a leading mine development contractor in North America, specializing in underground mine development, contract mining, and civil tunneling. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a collaborative approach to supporting the Accounts Payable team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage critical, high-volume, and high-maintenance vendors.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and 3rd parties to resolve issues and improve processing efficiencies.
  • Oversee vendor and invoice management, including reconciliation of vendor accounts statements and vendor inquiries.
  • Backfill for processing manual payments and semi-monthly check runs.
  • Assist with AP initiatives and process improvements.
  • Support external and internal audits and other management requests.
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or University degree, accompanied by minimum five (5) years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
  • Proficiency with large, multi-functional ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Fast learner with strong analytical skills, highly organized, and technology-focused.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with a flexible and creative approach to dealing with new and challenging situations.
  • Experience in managing financial process improvements or system implementation.
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English and French) candidates are preferred.
