Job Title: Event Host

Indigo Park Canada Inc is seeking a Casual Event Team Lead to work during various Sporting Events, Concerts, Trade Shows, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and directing team in manager absence
  • Providing customer service and keeping the machine (meter) clean and accessible
  • Regulating parking and traffic in an assigned lot and restricting unauthorized vehicles
  • Verifying authorization to park by checking permits/passes
  • Maximizing vehicle parking during busy event times while working with and around other user groups within the parking facilities
  • Keeping count of vehicles and holding required spaces for reservations
  • Displaying appropriate signage on the lot (e.g., lot full)
  • Completing summary reports when requested
  • Flagging traffic within the parking properties

Availability:

  • This is a casual position with shifts during special events like concerts, sporting events, etc.
  • Most events are in evenings (from 4:30 pm) and on weekends (various times)
  • Shifts will typically be 3 hours in length (3 hours for set-up prior to event, 1 hour for clean-up at event)
  • Schedule will fluctuate week by week based on the events booked primarily at Rogers Arena and BC Place

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of general parking procedures an asset
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Class 5 driver's license and comfortable using a company vehicle

Working Conditions:

  • Parking garage and occasional parking lots
  • Ability to work in all temperatures (cold/heat/rain/snow)
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Please be advised that this area of town is frequented by vagrants and the selected candidate must be comfortable with interacting with these guests as well as reporting any concerns to security
