Youth and Young Adult Evangelism Associate Pastor

Overview

Under the guidance of the Senior Pastor and with contributions from the Elder Board, the Youth and Young Adult Evangelism Associate Pastor will:

  • Engage and evangelize individuals who are not currently attending church, with a particular emphasis on youth and young adults.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to effectively mentor church members, focusing on the youth and young adult demographics.
  • Organize and mentor volunteer youth leaders.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and support to church members.
  • Partner with the Senior Pastor and ministry teams to fulfill the Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20.

Key Responsibilities

  • To evangelize, mentor, minister to, and pray for church members and the community, especially focusing on youth and young adults, guiding them in their spiritual journeys.
  • To lead, coordinate, and execute an evangelism ministry that reaches out to the community, particularly targeting youth and young adults, aligning with the mission and vision of Briercrest College and Seminary, including marketing efforts, event leadership, planning and conducting teaching sessions, and managing an annual events calendar and budget.
  • To engage, uplift, support, and pray for church members and the community, with special attention to families of youth participants.
  • Facilitate a weekly Small Group.
  • To lead, coordinate, and implement youth ministry initiatives that align with the mission and vision of Briercrest College and Seminary, including event leadership, planning and conducting teaching sessions, and managing an annual events calendar and budget.
  • To cultivate a youth ministry team by equipping, encouraging, and praying for leaders, teachers, helpers, and sponsors.
  • Lead a weekly Youth meeting and Sunday morning Youth service.
  • To be knowledgeable of and communicate all relevant laws regarding the care of children and youth in a church setting, implementing policies and procedures as established by Briercrest College and Seminary, and maintaining all necessary records related to youth ministry operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Formal Christian Education.
  • Proficient in evangelism.
  • Experience in teaching and engaging with youth and young adults.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments.
  • A demonstrated commitment to faith and a vibrant spiritual life, evidenced through prayer, worship, and a deep understanding of Scripture.
  • Meets biblical qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-11 and Titus 1:5-9.
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Briercrest College and Seminary and its statement of faith.
  • Must be a member of Briercrest College and Seminary.
  • Experience with preaching is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior pastoral experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Special Requirements

  • Valid driver's license (Class 4 is an asset).
  • First aid certification is required.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Records Check.

Accountability

  • The Youth and Young Adult Evangelism Associate Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor.
