Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our Electrical, Instrumentation Controls (EI&C) Engineering team at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our water treatment and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to execute custom project designs, meeting customer expectations, quality, schedule, budget, goals, and ensuring project risks are mitigated.
  • Design and develop control logic for plant operation, ensuring operator and equipment safety.
  • Manage budget, scope, and schedule, and proactively report risks and opportunities to project teams.
  • Support production and testing of Water Treatment systems in Veolia manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control philosophies, control logic, and sequence charts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least four (4) years of experience with control systems of Rockwell Schneider and/or Siemens PLC, HMI, DCS, and/or SCADA design and programming.
  • Automation testing experience (simulation and/or field environment): I/O modules, PID controllers, VFDs configuration, and Network communications: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, providing reports and support to internal and external customers.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% per year (USA & Canada) for customer meetings, training, and equipment startup support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Low Voltage Power Distribution electrical design.
  • Technical knowledge in industrial control systems.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
  • Teamwork spirit and good interpersonal relations oriented.
