Position Overview:

The Environmental Service Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Deep River & District Hospital. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the overall well-being of the facility.

Duties:

  • Conduct regular inspections and checks of the premises to guarantee that all areas are secure, clean, and free from hazards.
  • Manage security-related responsibilities, including locking and unlocking the facility, overseeing restricted areas, and assisting with emergency security protocols.
  • Ensure that all linens are thoroughly cleaned, properly folded, and available in adequate quantities to meet the needs of the organization and its clients.
  • Provide coverage for shifts on short notice as required by operational needs.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Embody and promote the mission, vision, and values of Deep River & District Hospital.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, which may extend beyond the specific duties of the department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include training or certification in housekeeping.
  • Infection Prevention and Control training or certification is preferred.
  • Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approach is preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital or long-term care environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating tasks with team members.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
