Produce Department Assistant Manager

At Loblaw Companies Ltd - Head Office, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Assistant Manager to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Produce Department Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the efficient functioning of the department, providing customers with the best quality of produce and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
- Assisting in the directing and supervising of all produce staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service;
- Assisting in the set-up of the department by assisting in the effective merchandising of produce through attractive and appealing displays, occasionally assisting in the creation of effective planograms;
- Writing and receiving produce orders, checking invoices, unloading and distributing merchandise accordingly;
- Filling, rotating and maintaining displays ensuring the quality of produce meets company standards;
- Assisting in the training of new staff;
- Solving any customer/employee complaints or problems while left in charge of the department;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- A minimum of 3 years' produce experience in a retail produce environment, with good knowledge of greens, fresh fruits, the salad bar, and bulk foods
- Previous management experience a definite asset;
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings and weekends;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure;
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
