About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled User Experience Researcher to join our Human-Centered Design Practice at GTT, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting user research and evaluation to enable exceptional user experience across our client touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration: Work closely with service design directors, designers, and business stakeholders to understand and support their research needs, maintain and build relationships across various stakeholder groups, and support Research team members as required.
  • Research Design: Define research questions, create the research approach and participant recruitment plan, and select appropriate methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Research Preparation: Create participant screeners, recruit from internal employee panels or work with vendors to recruit external participants, and create research protocols.
  • Data Collection: Conduct design research methods including observation/ethnography, diary studies, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, etc.
  • Analysis: Utilize qualitative and quantitative approaches to make sense of the data collected.
  • Reporting: Translate findings into easily understandable insights used to drive ideation and inform design, in diverse formats including experience maps, usability test reports, personas, etc.
  • Vendor Oversight: As required, oversee research vendors carrying out studies on behalf of Design Research.
  • Education: Increase awareness of Design Research methods and processes with our internal and external partners, share areas of expertise within the Research team as required to support the project and expand Research knowledge base and tools.
Requirements
  • Deep Knowledge: Deep knowledge of and experience with User-Centered Design and Human Factors research methods.
  • Strong Communication: Strong communication skills: written, oral, and graphical.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to balance tasks spanning multiple studies.
  • Knowledge of Statistics: Knowledge of inferential statistics and familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is an asset.
Education and Experience
  • UG Mandatory: Undergraduate degree is required (graduate degree preferred) in psychology, anthropology, computer science, industrial engineering, human factors, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience.
