About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Pipelines Corrosion Engineer, working under the Northern Area Corrosion & Inspection Division (NAC&ID) within the Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD). Our team provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations, with a focus on maximizing profitability while ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Pipelines Corrosion Integrity Management Plans (PCIM) for operating facilities, adhering to company and international standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain corrosion mitigation plans for operating pipelines, utilizing chemical treatment, coating, cathodic protection, and material selection.
  • Conduct corrosion mitigation and integrity reviews to optimize inspection and corrosion programs, ensuring pipeline integrity.
  • Investigate failures and provide recommendations to prevent future failures and improve pipeline integrity.
  • Develop and maintain OnStream Inspection (OSI) programs for field piping.
  • Support facility improvements by reviewing design packages and providing comments on corrosion monitoring and mitigation plans, including material selection, installation of Corrosion Monitoring Systems (CMS), chemical treatments, Corrosion Risk Management, and OSI.
  • Collaborate with inspection teams during plant shutdowns and turnaround inspections (T&I) for evaluation of internal and external corrosion issues and coating assessments.
  • Work with inspection teams on all corrosion and inspection programs related to field piping and pipelines, including OSI programs, dead leg programs, IOW, KPIs, etc.
Requirements
  • This role requires the candidate to relocate permanently to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in materials, metallurgical, chemical, mechanical, or corrosion engineering, or an MSc in corrosion engineering.
  • Hold NACE Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Management (PCIM) Technologist certification, NACE Internal Corrosion Technologist certification, or NACE Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist certification.
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years of experience in pipelines inspection, corrosion, and integrity management, including Inline Inspection (ILI) data evaluation and direct assessment examination.
  • Have knowledge of internal and external corrosion mechanisms common to upstream oil and gas pipelines and corresponding pipeline corrosion integrity management.
  • Have knowledge of corrosion mitigation techniques (coating, cathodic protection, chemical inhibition, material selection, scraping) and corrosion monitoring techniques (coupons, probes, onstream inspection, inline inspection, etc.).
  • Be familiar with government regulations and industry codes and standards (NACE, API, ASME, etc.) specifically regarding pipeline integrity.
  • Have working experience reviewing pipeline inline inspection data, fitness for service, corrosion mitigation programs, and integrity management development.
