Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at School District #73 (Kamloops-Thompson).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work as part of our district team to provide school-based speech/language services to students. This is an itinerant district position, requiring direct service to students and consultative service to staff, parents, and administrators in different schools and settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language services to students in various settings, including classrooms, clinics, and community locations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans for students.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' communication needs and develop strategies to support their progress.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote communication skills, including language, literacy, and social skills.
  • Provide consultative services to staff, parents, and administrators to support the development of communication skills in students.
Requirements:
  • Membership in the College of the Speech and Hearing Health Professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other professionals, parents, and students.
  • Previous experience as an SLP, particularly in a school setting, is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
What We Offer:

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $64,594 to $106,217, prorated to FTE. Placement on the grid is based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
