The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team in Breast Imaging. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating radiological equipment and performing quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Breast Imaging and Ultrasound, you will assess requisitions for appropriate examinations, views, and equipment required, obtain pertinent history, and select techniques and positioning patients to attain quality images.

You will also be responsible for operating X-Ray equipment, adhering to ALARA radiation safety practices, and performing clerical duties related to patient care.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 75 hours biweekly, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Your Qualifications

We require a graduate of an approved school of Radiological Technology, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals, and successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support program within the last 12 months.

Experience in mammography positioning skills, breast ultrasound, and interventional procedures is an asset. You must be able to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

A high degree of mental and visual acuity, as well as reasonable manual dexterity, is required. You must be willing to obtain continuing education as part of CAR Mammography Accreditation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Competencies in other languages are an asset.
