Our Technical Risk Underwriting Specialists craft personalized solutions tailored to client requirements when they seek guidance on technical risk insurance. They collaborate closely with our vast network of brokers to devise customized strategies for various risk categories while managing increasingly intricate accounts in accordance with corporate standards and business goals.

The Technical Risk Underwriting Specialist is accountable for assessing and overseeing accounts of growing complexity in line with established operational protocols and objectives, ensuring compliance with national benchmarks for data integrity and service level agreements. Our specialists are authorities in their domain and are committed to fostering robust relationships with our broker partners, which entails prompt responses to inquiries and regular meetings. As part of a collaborative team, you will have the chance to mentor and coach your less experienced colleagues while enhancing your own expertise alongside our seasoned underwriters, honing your skills in managing complex risks.

Your strengths include:

  • Underwriting intricate business insurance policies for accounts with insurable values or revenues exceeding $100M or possessing unique features.
  • Negotiating and selling effectively.
  • Identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Building and sustaining professional relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters.

Your qualifications include:

  • A minimum of ten years of underwriting experience.
  • PAA, FPAA, or RPLU designations (Chartered Professional Liability Underwriter) obtained or in progress.
  • Significant experience in liability and property insurance.
  • Familiarity with policy structures involving primary and excess insurance and experience in international risk placements (a plus).
  • A strong sense of teamwork.
