Job Title: Hotel Food and Beverage Service Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Food and Beverage Service Manager to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Waterloo/St. Jacobs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage services, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgetary Responsibility: Develop and manage budgets to determine costs of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen, and cleaning supplies.
  • Operations Evaluation: Regularly evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Service Development: Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Financial Management: Balance cash, complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews to assess employee performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Cost Control: Cost products and services to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations to maintain a safe and compliant environment.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient supply chain management.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to protect employees and guests.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies to secure the best deals.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Marketing: Participate in marketing plans and implementation to promote our food and beverage services.
  • Supervision: Supervise a team of 3-4 employees to ensure effective management and leadership.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Windows.
  • Transportation: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, and ability to multitask.
