Throughout the program, you will receive guidance from experienced managers who are committed to your professional growth, teaching you the intricacies of the business and industry from the ground up. You will collaborate with enthusiastic teammates eager to share their expertise, helping you develop the necessary skills to advance in your career.
Whether your aspirations lie in sales, management, operations, or customer service, the Strategic Development Program will lay the groundwork for your ideal career path. Graduates of this program have successfully transitioned into various roles within EMCO, including Senior Account Managers, Technical Sales Specialists, Purchasers, and Operations Managers.
Development Plan, Responsibilities, and Duties:
Phase 1 – Warehouse Logistics: Gain an understanding of our product offerings and the logistics involved in delivering them to customers. Actively participate in warehouse operations to provide sales support.
Phase 2 – Operations: Engage in front-line customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory control, and financial processes.
Phase 3 – Inside Sales/Project Management: Transition from customer service support to managing significant, time-sensitive projects.
Phase 4 – Outside Sales/Account Management: Learn to identify new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and foster relationships with customers and vendors.
Phase 5: Utilize your training to define your preferred career trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage shipping and receiving operations within the warehouse
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring accuracy between physical counts and system records
- Develop marketing and sales strategies targeting both new and existing customers
- Analyze customer data to create and implement strategies for market share growth
- Process sales orders from various communication channels
- Identify customer needs and provide effective solutions
- Expand and maintain a robust customer base while pursuing new business opportunities
- Lead the sales process through prospecting, reporting, and territory planning
- Support team efforts in Counter Sales and Outside Sales
- Build and maintain strong, trustworthy relationships with customers
- Adhere to safety regulations at all operational sites

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Familiarity with products sold at the Profit Centre is advantageous but not mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role
- Technological proficiency with computers and software applications
