Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at the Peter Lougheed Centre. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of varying acuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize departmental efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, guidelines, and research to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience obtained within the past 3 years working greater than 0.70 FTE in a Calgary or Edmonton Zone Urban Emergency Department.
- Triage and Trauma trained in a Calgary or Edmonton Zone Urban Emergency Department.
- Charge trained in a Calgary Zone Emergency Department.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Recent critical care experience (obtained within the past 3 years working greater than 0.50 FTE).
- ENCP (within 4 years).
- TNCC (within 4 years).
- ACCN certification.
- ACLS (within 2 years).
- Up-to-date Annual Continuing Education.
- Quality Improvement experience.
- Connect Care Trained/Excellent Computer skills.
