About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Information Management and Technology (IM/IT) department, you will play a critical role in the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and design information management and technology solutions to meet the needs of our organization and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key clinical and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our information management and technology systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on new systems and applications.
  • Work with our project management team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Systems Analysis, or Health Related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support.
  • Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset.
  • Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of clinical communications, including but not limited to, telephony solutions, nurse call systems, RTLS, ACD, and Call Centre Solutions.
  • Knowledge of paging technology, including the management of private paging networks and applications of the public paging network technologies.
  • Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff.
  • Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories, and concepts within healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications.
