As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational program needs of our students, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs.

Job Summary:

We are seeking multiple full-time Educational Assistants to join our team at H.E. Bourgoin Middle School. The successful candidates will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. If you are a compassionate and energetic individual who is passionate about supporting students with diverse needs, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students with diverse needs, including those with behavioral challenges and physical disabilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
  • Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
