Educational Assistant

Northern Lights Public Schools is a dynamic and innovative division located in the heart of Alberta's Lakeland region. We are seeking a compassionate and energetic full-time Educational Assistant to join our team at Learning Together Anywhere, an online Kindergarten to Grade 9 school serving approximately 80 students.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will assist with student educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs. This role requires a team player who can work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create individualized learning plans
- Provide support with documentation procedures and computer skills
- Assist students with alternate communication strategies and self-help needs
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student programs
Requirements:
- Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
- Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
- Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
- Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
- Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
- Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
- SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
