CB Canada is seeking a Mechanical Transport Engineer for a permanent position.

Job Overview
The Mechanical Transport Engineer will primarily assist our estimating and operations teams by creating transport and rigging schematics while prioritizing safety. The ideal candidate will evolve into our Industry expert concerning specialized transportation and rigging solutions across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate CAD schematics for the estimating and operations divisions.
  • Formulate transportation and rigging strategies for various clients and projects.
  • Act as the main liaison for external consultants and client engineers.
  • Devise innovative solutions tailored to client projects.
  • Lead the process for permit applications and approvals.
  • Conduct initial engineering assessments to support estimators with custom fabrication needs.
  • Engage in quote evaluations to ensure precision and thoroughness.
  • Communicate effectively to guarantee that proposals align with client expectations, aiming to identify strategies that provide a competitive edge on every project.
  • Participate in estimating and operational discussions as necessary.
  • Attend relevant industry gatherings.
  • Draft safe work plans for field operations.

Essential Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • EIT, C-Tech, A.Sc Tech, P-Eng, or pertinent industry experience.
  • Prior experience in construction-related roles.
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented, and positive, with the ability to manage both internal and external client inquiries effectively.
  • Openness to learning on the job and thinking creatively to address challenges.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to thrive in a confidential, fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
